Advice Needed for SERP Results

I don’t know everyday I stuck with strange issues. As you all knows that when we do Google with brand name e.g. “XXX” the returned results (atleast first 10) should be the webpages related to a particular website/Brand. Right?

But In my case when I do Google with “Brand Name”. I am only getting two webpages in SERP. Do you have any solutions/Advice for this? So that I can show others pages as well.

You’re saying that if you search for “Brand Name” 8 of the results have nothing at all to do with “Brand Name”?

Last time I searched for something rather obscure, Google gave only the few results, it did not “pad” the page with inappropriate results.

This is not as it is for you?

Yes exactly

Is this related to your other thread? If this is the same site, or one built in the same manner, then that’s probably the explanation.

@TechnoBear, This question is related to a different website.

And there is no similar issue with the coding of that site?

Yes, There is no coding issue

Perhaps these are the only two pages which Google considers to be about the brand, rather than simply mentioning the brand or one of its products. Google will also omit some results if it considers they are too similar to those shown, although it should indicate this and give you the option to view the omitted results.

Google will only show what Google wants to show in SERPs.
It does not like to show many similar results because it wants to give the user (the person that the search engine serves) a variety of results in order to give the user some choice.
Remember, Google is a search engine, its purpose is to help people find relevant and useful results on the web.
It is not a service for webmasters/businesses to promote their sites/brands, paid advertising does that.

@SamA74. I understand this thing.

So according to you I cannot do anything and don’t need to do. right?

You can check that the site is optimised according to Google’s guidelines. That will give you the best chance of having the pages returned in search results. Beyond that, there’s nothing. As @SamA74 says, Google’s priority is to return the best results for the search term to the person making the search, not to display the results as site owners might want to see them displayed.

The more varied and unique the different pages on a site are, then there is probably more chance of more of them showing in SERPs.
If many of the pages are quite similar, Google will not want to show very many of them, as it would be too repetitive.

I don’t think Google is particularly interested in a brand name per se in any event. What it is interested in is search terms. If the search term is a brand name but the words can also be used in other contexts, you will get those results as well.

Would you mind sharing the brand name? Maybe the brand name itself is a competitive keyword?

That’s a good point.

That’s probably not a good idea. @arielsoftsolutions will be able to judge the issue for themselves, so we don’t need to know, and the company might not be very happy if their brand starts showing up in search results for a topic discussing why it’s not performing well in search results.
