Does anyone have any experience with companies who contact you to advertise for them on your site? I’m getting requests for this, but would like to know if there’s any Q&A on how to detect a spammy company.
My main concern is if I’m going to be locked into a contract and if I can/cannot choose which ads to post on my site.
I don’t care to advertise businesses that do not follow strict ethical standards.
I’ve been getting some messages from them to. I ignored them at first and they they started offereing more and more money when I didn’t answer. Today I got this: "I have not received any sort of response from the emails I have sent with our clients offer. Our client Mesovideolibrary.com is looking to advertise on sites like yours. They are willing to pay $150 dollars a quarter (in advance) for the five minutes of web work it will take you to place the sentence and link.
It gives you an idea of their budget, at least for some sites…
I don’t understand.
Are you talking about regular ad networks?
Thanks, mayhemgod. Maybe I ought to consider the same.
I have had a few in the past, but I refused the company ones. I deal more with other website owners where there would be more of a trust built. I have also contact other webmasters in the past to advertise on their sites. So far no problems from this.
Someone from linkbuilding.net. They’ve sent me a follow up email this week about how their clients wish to advertise their business on my website.
