wow $45 a month? I wish my blog can earn that amount every month. Is auto content good way of doing it?
I would also mix some of my own content in with any auto content that you chose to use. I find articles that are relevant to my site and do some rewrite on them and submit as my own.
If you get traffic you should easily be able to reach $100 per month. Many people don’t just have on site, they often times have mulitple autoblogs that they have adsense on and they do pretty well.
you know what… you can lurk on other webmaster forums that use adsense… it can give some ideas…

Depending on your niche a forum can earn you quite a lot of money
(I do 4 figure earnings each month with my forums).
However the CTR on forums is usually much lower then on other website types.
For a forum to get a consistent CTR above 2-3% with decent traffic (above 100k AIs/month) is very hard to accomplish.

Forums ARE too much work for my taste. You say you get 4 figure earnings, what does it mean? it can be 1000 euros or 9999 euros. But your forum as you said is 5 years old, and you do it because you love the topic, but I’m sure it is a lot of work to manage on a daily basis.
Also forums need to be updated often for loggued in users, near real time, so caching is hard, which means that forum take a lot of web server resources.
All I’m saying is that forums are not for me, because the ratio work/money is less interesting than other types of sites which I’m doing. My goal always is to generate passive income, the work I do some day I want it to pay me everyday a little and even one or two year after when I am not doing anything workwise.
With a forum it’s not quite that 
Anyway, your forum is about health which is luckily for you, a high paying topic in adsense. And congratulations because even 2-3% CTR for a forum I think it is a great accomplishment.
I work less then an hour per day on all my forums on avarage.
(Besides AdsenseExperts.com, but that is because it is new and needs more attention right now)
The secret to those CTRs are that I never stop optimizing my Ads.
Just yesterday I introduced a totally new placement on my forum integrating
a Large Rectangle inside the first post for guests.
I think it should increase my CTR again a little.
What about placing adsense on blogs. Can you guys recommend a good “big boy” example for blogs?
