Add On Domains, Point to homepage or site pages? Thank you for any help

Hello and thank you for your time.

I am trying to figure out what is the best thing to do.

Say I have a website

But I also have

newhomeconstruction.com

My concern is that I do not want to get a duplicate content penalty. So is is best to point additional domain names to a page within the main site or just point to the main page?

I am looking to see if a search engine will pick up the keywords like new - homes - colorado in a domain and help with clicks. yet just trying to figure out what is the best move.

It is better to make new sites for additional domain names.

Install redirects from these web sites to your core one. I suppose that will give you the best profit.
