Acivation email on local server?

Hi

Currently setting up a new site with WordpressMU and buddypress.

I’ve installed wordpress on a local server on my PC ( used WAMP to set up the localhost server) and it seems to be working ok.

I’ve got a basic theme up and running and want to try and set up some user logins for the site to see how it works from a users point of view. When I try to setup a user account WP asks for an email address to send a confirmation email to which is used to activate the account.

These emails never arrive so I can’t activate the user accounts !

I presume that this has something to do with the local host server but have been going round in circles trying to find the solution!!

Any ideas/suggestions as to how to solve this would be greatly apreciated

can’t you set up user accounts as the admin, or at least activate them as the admin?

Alternatively, you could also set up an email server, Xampp comes with one, and then you can access those emails using an Email client.
