About Keywords dropping from SERP results

Hi Friends,

Can any one give me solution for why keywords are dropping from SERP results. Suddenly after 1 week keywords are dropping (ie from 1 st page to 2nd page) or sometimes its disappears.

Welcome to the forums, @Anusya.

It’s quite natural for SERPs to vary a bit, and of course if one site climbs higher up the rankings, then those it displaces will appear lower than before.

It could also be that the basis for the previous high ranking was not sound, and the results have been adjusted. This is particularly likely to happen if you have been using techniques aimed at manipulating the results; your page may fall in rankings, or even be removed altogether, if the search engines determine you have broken their guidelines.

Without further information, it’s hard to be more specific. My first piece of advice, though, would be to read the guidelines carefully and ensure you’re not infinging them in any way.

Thank you for your guidelines… Now im facing a new problem (i.e) my site have been crawled by google but when i search keywords in google my site is not appearing. Can you give solution for this???

Do your pages appear when you do a site:yourdomain search? If the pages have been indexed, but are not appearing in search results for your chosen keywords, then that must be because Google has determined that other pages from other sites are a better fit for that search term.

There is no easy solution to this, because it depends primarily upon the quality of your content. Perhaps take a look at those sites which rank highly for those keywords, and see what they are doing, and how you could perhaps improve your own site. (I’m not suggesting copying here; just looking for ideas.)
