Does anyone know what is happening with 1and1? Just called up a couple of friends who are hosting with 1and1 and all their websites are down and not able to log into their server.
They have had a major outage today, there’s a story on the register detailing this.
Apparently they had a major software failure that led to part of their VPS and dedicated servers to go down. They published some of this in their Twitter account.
I am really annoyed that they didn’t let me know personally and I am looking at my e-mails and it went down again last night between 19:30 and 21:00 GMT, gotta move away from these amateurs
Thats concerning that a software failure can take down dedicated servers… I can (sort of) understand it affecting cloud or shared servers. Ouch!
How ironic that I am *****ing about these guys and there is an advert for them at the bottom of the page!!

lol, yep - I’ve seen them making a large advertising push here in the UK on TV recently… doesn’t do them good to have a major downtime incident with that 
Perhaps with all the adverts they have broadcast they have just had too many new customers and not enough hardware to go around? Didn’t realise that a female dog would be starred out sorry about that!!!
