127.0.0.1 works but not localhost?

I just installed wamp here on my laptop to set up a developer machine for my website. I am used to going into the browser and just typing in “localhost” and having it bring up the test website. I’m sure there is probably something wrong with the configuration of the wamp files because it works for 127.0.0.1. Where/how would I fix it so it points to both? Thanks in advance.

Nvm…just figured it out.

Windows->System32->etc->hosts

Change “::1 localhost” to “127.0.0.1 localhost”

Thanks for letting us know you solved the puzzle.

::1 is the IPv6 equivalent of 127.0.0.1, so technically they are the same but from what I gather you had Apache listening for traffic from 127.0.0.1 hence it didn’t work for ::1. I suppose another way to solve this is to not use an IP address in the Listen directive or add the IPv6 along side the IPv4 Listen directive.
