When I was getting started, I made the mistake of focusing on monetization too early. Too much efforts were spent on optimizing for the best CTR and trying out different ad networks rather than content creation and the promotion of the website.
The lesson I learned was that it is always easier to monetize when you have a solid base of traffic and newsletter subscribers. If you don’t have these yet, it is too early to focus on monetization.
