I agree with Tim. Question 14′s a little ambiguous. ‘…you would: ‘ implies a best practice, which in the context of vectors makes using layer-styles certainly less preferable to directly modifying the shape’s inherent properties. Of course you ‘COULD’ use layer-styles, but why “WOULD” you?

I have to assume question 11 is actually referring to squaring one of the rectangles corners, because straightening an edge doesn’t make much sense in the context. If you have created the rounded corner rectangle using the rounded corner rectangle tool, there are 2 points for each corner, each at the beginning of the radius on each side. It is insufficient to just use the convert tool to convert the points to remove the curve handles. This would leave a 45 degree angled corner. After both points are converted, one point must be moved and the other removed. While using the CTRL and ALT modifier to the pen tool it technically changing it to another tool, this would be the most efficient way to accomplish the task.

Quiz isn’t working. Ironic for a web development focused blog.

It’s working fine for me. Can you outline your issue, please?

This quiz is pretty subjective on the way you work. Best adding scanlines can be done best by any of the ways you listed (what the heck are scanlines anyway? Like, tv static?).
Question 16 is confusing.
Also, question 19, “the filter was unable to blend it with the background” – why would it need to do that? I use the filter gallery on layers that have transparent pixels in them all the time. It just affects the areas that have pixels with color in them.
