Mono Beta 2 has just been released, and along with the usual set of bug fixes, performance improvements, there is also support for IKVM, which on closer inspection is an implementation of the Java Virtual Machine for .NET.
IKVM works with the standard .NET framework as well as Mono to provide the execution of Java applicationrs, or the compliation of Java to .NET assemblies.
