Matt Cutt’s, Google’s infamous Blogger, has written about “bigdaddy“, Google’s new datacenter which will become the default in the next 1-2 months:

Q: What’s new and different in Bigdaddy?
A: It has some new infrastructure, not just better algorithms or different data. Most of the changes are under the hood, enough so that an average user might not even notice any difference in this iteration.

At the moment, Google is requesting feedback on the quality of search results at “bigdaddy”. Specifically, they want feedback about canonicalization, redirects, duplicate urls, www vs. non-www, spam and similar issues.

Check out 66.249.93.104 to preview how your Website might rank in Google in the near future.

  • Use this form to report spam and put in “bigdaddy” in the additional details section
  • If you have other feedback, click on the “Dissatisfied? Help us improve” link on the search results page and use the keyword “bigdaddy” in your feedback so that your comments go to the right people.

This site uses reBlogger to collect all blogs posts about the Google (and Yahoo) index updates.

WSHD Says: “Here is a tool I created for you to easily compare your serps. 3 results are shown: 1. Standard search, 2 and 3 are the bigdaddy datacenters. Enjoy!” Where?

Matt “Cutt’s”? There is no excuse for that.

I think that the SERPs are so much better. I just looked up my name and I see the searches are much more relevant showing my many accounts of websites you can find me at.

Plus my website has a few better ratings in some of the keywords we aim for.

After reading Matt’s post, I think my changed rankings (comment#1) are connected to google’s improved site: operator search.
    interesting.. :)

Wow thanks for the heads up!

I’m definately seeing major differences, the new datacenter does not rank the index page of my large entertainment when I search for the name of this site, but it does rank the subsection index pages when searching for the site’s name… This could mean that the new datacenter seems to be more sensitive to my insite linking structure, wich was built to funnel pagerank to these section index pages.
