In 7years online I've never seen one like this!

There are times when I browse the Internet simply to check out different web designs. I often look at color schemes, the use of lines, patterns and photographs. Load time is not a big deal ONLY IF the initial impression is breathtaking or spectacular.

Having said that check out this site http://www.fusioncaraudio.com

Click on ENTER FUSION CAR AUDIO WEBSITE, sit back for about 3-5 minutes and indulge yourself.

I would like to get your feedback even if you are not a car enthusiast.

Have you ever seen a more impressive site?

What kind of time (in terms of hours) is involved in creating a site like this?

Won't be a website I ever visit again. Nor will I go out of my way to purchase any of their products. In fact because of the waste of time their site provided me with, the ripping of control of my computer from me, disregarding the browser interface and other very large shortcomings, when I see their products on the shelf I will probably purchase the competing product next to it. Just to be spiteful and hope they go out of business.

I third it. Artistically interesting (and quite good, IMHO)- from a usability standpoint, it bites.

Yep, it resized my window to full screen... and left another window with [object window] in it behind

Very pretty indeed, but this is the internet

I may be missing something rather obvious, but I've spent the last five mins or so on their site, and I still can't figure out what they sell.

Did the same with me as well, also set off my norton firewall by trying to open the other window. Terrible site, waste of time and money gone into that for it to leave a bad taste in the mouth.

You mean they actually sell something?

Howya like this one for load time: http://www.globallinkscorp.com/

It should load pretty quick, and it has quite a few images. I'm on a dialup (on purpose) and in my hood the phone company has split the lines down to where I'm only at 24bpc, which is pretty slow according to the guys down at my ISP.

I crunched all the images so they would load as quickly as possible, but still look decent.

Oh, I must not have waited long enough. I didn't get far enough to see any text, save the logo and "skip intro"...

Hehe... one cannot really argue about personal preferences in visual art or any art for that matter. I would simply recommend you look at some design link databases such as www.linkdup.com and have a quick scroll through the favourite lists there. I am sure you will find sites on there where you can indulge yourself for 1 hour and even then you wont know what the site is about, but you will appreciate the art and emotion some sites can portray!

I quite liked the Fusion site but I like anything that looks cool

My only problem with it was the fact the I'm on dial-up and I had to load all the different sctions of the site

Visually interesting. But spelling mistakes? That's a no-no in my books!

By the way, what's a "webstie"?

This isn't an Art site, it is a ecommerce site. At least that is the impression that I get from it once you get past the flash intro and such nonsense.

If it were an art site it would be judged under different rules. However if I want to purchase car audio accessories, I do not want to go through dozens of minutes of Flash to do so. I will quickly leave and go to the next site listed in my google search and probably purchase from them.

There is a time and place for art. This site is neither the time nor the place if they ever thought of selling something.

Yes, I agree absolutely, but looking back at the comment of tonybear:

I rather get the impression the color schemes, use of lines, patterns and photographs was meant and the indulgent feeling these portrayed to tonybear ;-)

I am the first one to dismiss fancy shmancy animations, and gawd forsake intro animations!!! on an e-commerce site especially as I had to endure such a decision on a project where I was doing the backend catalog system and simply didn't understand why someone would see pleasure wating 30 seconds eachtime they roll over a product for the animation to finish it's frickin' loop. Meanwhile I was busting my braincells over optimizing the code performance, scalability and squenching out those 1/10 second execution time drops :-P

I am with you there W. Luke but I simply had the feeling something else was meant here, at least that was my impression thus I advised tonybear to visit www.duplink.com :-)

hmm...neostream on dialup is painful...it gets to the 10.000 volt animation with the alien's head being electrocuted...and loops that, with the annoying audio, for about 50 times or so until the whole thing is loaded...

I’m on dial-up too; my loading screen is up to 50,000 volts and it still no signs of a web-site yet. :/

The loading noise is excruciating.

EDIT - WOAH, HO-HOAH! What an amazing size! Definitely worth the wait.

Making the alien jump is fun!

Wow, thank goodness I have a broadband connection. I got through the flash stuff and to the main page fairly quickly.

I must say I really had fun running my cursor over, under, and around the alien on the v0.8 main page -- making him do such things as stamp one or both feet, jump up and down, fall over, shake his head, waggle his finger at me.... pretty amusing. But as far as getting to the real content for the site... well that's another story.
