Sliding doors gap in IE6 and IE7

I’m using a single image for sliding doors to get a button, but in IE6 and IE7 I can’t get the two elements to close the gap.

I added some code in conditional comments and it seemed to make the gap narrower but it didn’t close it.

Hi, untested since my IE won’t load (computers falling apaprt), so I’m going off firebug…but try applying haslayout to this parent. It might be the inheriting margins bug
