I do exercise. I do exercise 3 times in a week. I don't do it daily. I start exercise with the advice of my doctor to reduce my weight. Now my weight is ok. Exercise has a great effect.

I've been known to walk from here to the kettle and back. Occasionally I'll spice things up by walking to the fridge too!

I can't stand Gyms

I used to own a home weights bench which I had in the garage but lost interest in weight training after a few years

I walk a fair bit, back and forth to work.

The only other exercise I do now is Taiji Chuan, which underpins all martial arts. It's quite good for your posture, and I suffered from bad posture from working on computers all the time. Plus, there are other health benefits to the practice, it is said, although those come with time and application.

I'm still pretty new to it, but have felt a positive improvement in my core-body strength even in the short time I've been learning. Plus I'm a lot more supple now, since those tendons have been getting a good stretch everyday.

PowerCORE once a week.
Some dumb-bell exercise for arms and shoulders 3 times a week.

I go to the gym three times a week or so - 1x RPM or Cycle class, 1x whatever other class looks like fun, 1x cardio and weights. I'm losing the plumpiness round my middle!

I've gotten out of the habit lately, but have a membership to the "Y" and need to get back there.

Datura - how are you liking that Total Gym? I always thought that looked great but you're the only person I know who owns one.

I run about 4 miles each morning no matter where I am. It can get you some very strange looks in some parts of the world. I also like to play Judo if I can find an opponent, but sadly it seems to be going out of fashion.

I play squash 4 times a week because the gym is boring and hitting a ball is fun.

For anyone struggling with motivation to use a gym or any repetitive exercise, try doing something that's intrinsically fun, but doubles as exercise.

It is really a great machine. Since it is set up to work with different inclines and your body weight, you can make it easy or quite challenging.

You can use it like a pilates setup or pretty heavy weight lifting with very smooth movements. I highly recommend it. I use it also to do relaxing low impact movements, it can put me into a trance like mood as well. I also use it for cardio.

You need a long space though, but it can be folded up into a compact bundle. I keep the moving parts smooth with silicone, it is very quiet that way as well

Oh, and another thing: Every move you make will have an impact on your core, so you do not have to do boring sit ups since you get at this part of the body in may twists and angles automatically.

Datura, you can also use paint brushes that weigh 5 pounds each. As you paint, you work out as well.

I go running every 2nd day for about 20 minutes, and use a cross trainer every evening for about 15 minutes. That's it though

I've become fairly sedentary of late - a habit I'm intending to turn around. I hate using work as an excuse, but aside from laziness, it's the only one I've got .

When I do exercise, I tend to do a lot of jogging. Every year I try to beat my PB in our city's annual 10k run. Next year I hope to get sub 50 minutes.

No, you are wrong. Also, Taiji is invented after Shaolin and many other styles, how can it be the basis?
