Transferring a social network to another, is this possible?

Hi,

I've carried out quite an extensive forum search on this issue before posting and didn't really find any information. Please advise if there are an abundance of posts out there that I've simply overlooked.

We're looking at giving Ning a go and one question that's popped up that I'd like to know what possibilities there are for exporting/transferring social networking sites from one to another. The post that showed up on Ning on the issue of transferring wasn't relevant.

I'd appreciate any feedback on this from anyone's experience,
