We've upgraded the forum

We're upgrading the forum to the latest version of vBulletin that powers the Forums, and manages the user accounts for the SitePoint Blogs, the SitePoint Marketplace, and the SitePoint Reference.

Most of sitepoint.com, including the SitePoint Marketplace, will be going down for maintenance for up to 4 hours (but hopefully less) starting at 2:00AM GMT on Monday, June 2nd.

You can stay tuned to updates at out development blog.

Be on the lookout for some new features in the release!

UPDATE: The upgrade has been complete!

Cool. Can't wait to have the new profiles of vB 3.7 on these forums. This shall bring the socials on SP forums to a new level.

Hope everything goes smooth and well.

P.S.: I guess you meant to write "We're upgrading...".

The latest vBulletin has more social-networking style user profiles - friends, a 'tag board' and so on

I can only imagine the nightmare of designing a site around someone else's database schema.

Especially if I was using PHP.

I hope everything goes well during the upgrade.

That's true, it's like brain surgery. But SitePoint already has a bunch of talented developers who can do wonders.

Anything in particular that's a must to use?
