Enter the Dragon: Develop ColdFusion Apps for Free

Notice: This is a discussion thread for comments about the SitePoint article, Enter the Dragon: Develop ColdFusion Apps for Free.
__________

I believe this article is based on some false statements.

From BD's SLA:

"The Trial/Development version may not be used for any commercial deployment or production purposes as these activities require a Commercial version license, which may be obtained via NAC’s web site or by contacting a NAC account representative."

Your article implies that BD Developer Edition can be used for commercial purposes and is only limited by SSL support. This is very misleading and could get your readers into licensing problems.

Also, the use of ColdFusion is inaccurate and possibly violates the Adobe trademark/brand. ColdFusion applications run on Adobe ColdFusion, CFML applications run on both. So it's impossible to develop a ColdFusion application for BlueDragon.

The timing of this article is bizarre. Why not just use the recently announced open source version of BlueDragon instead of trying to trick people with the developer edition?

We've updated Chris's article to hopefully clear up any confusion over the issues raised by some readers. Thanks for your feedback -- and be sure to thank Chris for being diligent in clarifying this stuff. Not every article author is as pro-active in wanting to clear up inaccuracies as he's been.

I actually didn't include them in my edits.. Well, it's up and fixed now, sorry about the confusion there. Kind of weird I didn't put them in considering I spent most of yesterday making sure I had the latest and up to date information on Adobe Coldfusion development server.
