Unhappy "Content is king" - Is it true?

Hi,

Content is king. Website with good content and a lot of content helps in website's page ranking.

But i am finding it is difficult to survive even with thousands of web pages in website.

Even after implementing SEO Friendly URLs etc, page rank is poor.

What are inexpensive ways to increase website traffic and page rank.

Please guide

Content is not king! Well written, useful and informative content is king.

You may have 1000's of pages but how much of it is actually useful or easily accessible to your visitors? Simply having "lots of content" won't help in page rankings either, it's quality that counts every time. If you can write compelling stuff that people will want to link to from good quality sites I'd say that would help.

It's such a simple concept. The most relevant site will rank the best. Think about how relevance is judged. You need content that is relevant. You need backlinks that contain relevant anchor text.

Get those sorted and you'll rank well.

Make your site accessable, usable and interesting and you'll retain the visitors and see ROI.

just a note here, friendly url's will have zero affect on page rank
Pr is completely based on back links, and you'll want links from sites related to yours

yes, true true, and why you may ask.. because this way other sites would like to link to you. as stated above "back links", back links is the joker of seo I would say.. and of course this is one way links with relevant anchor text as HAWK said.

Websites don't rank. Pages do.

fresh and quality content might be the KING but I don't think this can stand alone,. It needs "LINK BUILDING" for the users to know that your site has this kind of content,. Quality content can gain you a returning visitors,.

Exactly as Hawk said, it's about quality backlinks from related websites. It isn't about quantity and it isn't about a ton of backlinks when you have a ton of outgoing links on your site. Strive for one-way links from sites that are in the same niche as you are. You might have to pay for them, but keeping your outgoing links to a min and being able to be featured on a site with similar content is well worth it.

Isn't that what we're all looking for when using a search engine though? It'd be pointless to search for content when there isn't any.

Content is king, but you also need to generate lots of backlinks.

Some of the ways are creating articles or videos and submit to various article directories and video sharing websites. Remember to include your links in your bios box as well.

You could also actively participate in forum or leave comments in other related blogs. Remember to link it to your websites in your signature.

you could promote your website through posting classified ads, or through pay per click services and many more.

Hope it helps!

In my opinion, content acts as an attracting factor to draw visitors to your website. Minimalistic content with fresh and accurate data is an advantage. SEs prefer websites with fresh and updated content.

No they don't. This is a frequently regurgitated myth. How frequently content gets updated is not directly related to the relevance of a page to a query.

People like fresh content in certain circumstances and people link to web pages - and that might have an indirect effect of rankings, but search engines don't prefer fresh content. In my opinion.

The only advantage fresh content may offer is Google may crawl your site more frequently to keep up with the changes.

I believes - i have not enough tried to work on backlinks, so irrespective of content, sites are not getting traffic.

If you have really good content you will find getting backlinks to be much easier to do. You'll also get much higher quality backlinks that way.

Indeed great content would make your link building efforts easier. It like giving reasons for other sites to link to your site. Whats even better is when other sites link naturally to your site as this has added benefits SEO wise
