You did not list Opera 9? I do realise that perhaps it was not released officially in the production of this book, but they've had beta builds long enough to be included.

Unfortunately Opera 9, even in beta, wasn't even on the horizon when I finished writing the content for the book. I've always been a big Opera fan, so it certainly wasn't intentional at all. I appreciate it being added here and updated for this article. Thanks!

Nice article, but it would be even better if there could have been some focus on test automation using tools like Selenium or even fitnesse's HtmlFixture.

Thanks for the comments, OfficeOfTheLaw. Much appreciated. I'm making note of the two tools that you mention, and I'll be sure to check them out.

For Table 14.1, it should be 1024x768, not 1024x760

Nice article! I just printed it out and I plan to show it to a client this afternoon.

As some have already pointed out, it is very difficult, if not impossible, to get a page to work perfectly in all browsers. Most of my clients want their websites up and running quickly so I tend to focus primarily on Internet Explorer, Firefox, Mozilla, Safari and Netscape/AOL running on Windows XP/2000, Mac OSX and to a more limited extent, Linux operating systems. I will only test in Opera and other browsers if the client insists on it and is will to pay for the additional time.

Thanks again for the list!!!

really useful article, I agree some mention or recommendation of any quality automation tools would have been especially useful, though - in my experience the ability to interpret testing results is largely based on human experience.
