$10,000 where should I invest?

Hello,

I have about 5 sites, with 2 active and well promoted sites, and I am now planning to get a few more successful sites, mostly I am planning to get a cricket site just like cricketnext.com etc..

Well, my question is if I want to invest $10,000 to get traffic to my that new sites, where should I invest this? and how much traffic you think I will get for this for that really new site?

Thanks in advance...

What you think is best in the following:

1. Buy sites with huge traffic and revenue
2. Spend those bucks in promoting new sites, etc

You'd probably need to do your own analysis, depending on the asset your buying and comparing traffic to cost of the overall project. Whichever is more efficient or effective then that is the route.

But $10k is a lot to spend. Take into account if you promote, how long would it last for and what its spent on.

I run a few large sites. The way I promote new sites is in the following order:

1. Submit to all free link directories I can find (Search Engine Friendly only)
2. Pay to advertise of relevant busy sites that I like. (very cost effective)
3. Google Adsense.

It is a proven formula for my sites. It may take a bit of time and research on your subject, but it works.

here is how i am spending similar amount of money..

1) buying the best domain for the buck..my recent one is a premium one word
2) put together a strategy of what you will be offering..how you will stand out with your competitor
3) put together a strategy to get the word out..i.e. press release, plugs etc etc.

good luck!

Thanks for the suggestions guys,

So that means, I need to start new sites and promote and make them established, instead of buying established sites right?

I thought I should buy an established site and pay the webmaster 12 months of its revenue, so $10k, will get me a site with $830/month revenue and when I optimize it more I can get it into 1k or more, blah blah....

What you think?

Sites that already make money are pretty risk free if you do your homework properly and often require little additional work.

Starting a brand new site is a lot of work and riskier.

But it's up to you.

If I had $10k to play around with, I'd be investing it. Forex is a viable market, as there are some legit operations paying 2-3% a week, compounding. Sounds too good to be true but it is legit possible.

However, if I had the option, I'd buy an existing website, and if it were one you could expand, I would do that. Cost you maybe $1k for a decent site, and expand on thier original hard work.

adwords, if you want to advertise some of your sites.

but with 10K, i'd rather buy offline ads on magazines/newspapers.
or create tshirts to give away/etc..

Start "small".

What are you currently doing that's already working?

What products are already selling?

Why not OPTIMIZE and IMPROVE what you already have, get it earning more, and run small-scale marketing TESTS to see which method is more profitable.

Once you've nailed down a consistently converting campaign on a small-scale (say, for a month or two with consistent daily income), then calculate an acceptable ROI based on your current RESULTS and ramp up your spending accordingly.

Be smart, don't just throw your money at anything that looks "promising".

The only thing that matters in this game are the NUMBERS.

(And I'd highly suggest that your efforts go towards building/acquiring an asset that you can leverage at will, such as a membership base, a mailing list or even offline leads)

Because you simply cannot rely on Adsense or some other ad network. The can and have pulled the plug on many ethical, "rules-following" webmasters without notice - usually because of your users, not you.

So be smart, and spend wisely.

Sincerely,

Chris Rempel
