How has your chitika ads been performing over the past few days? That is, if you didn't drop them already!

I cannot help but agree with you. I am only getting $1.15 for my past 6 days with Chitika.

Same experience here, nobody clicks on the Chitika ads. About 250 impressions daily, and one click every other or third day. I'm stumped.

I had the same thing, as soon as it happened I dropped them completely. It were as if they simply didn't record any clicks.

Since 1 Dec chitika only logs clicks that they pay for, so no audit will be needed. Since then I get:

1 click with 5,5K impressions/daily

Before that I was doing better, up to 15-20 clicks/day, however that's unaudited clicks still.

dropped them yesterday.

Have you done any optimization to the keywords?

Check this : http://www.chitika.com/catalog.php

It seems Chitika was overhyped badly.

Using them was the biggest mistake ever, I lost quite some money with it, favoring them over any other ad network for their ad positions.

No, Chitika was not overhyped badly. You just have to find keywords / products that work for your site and do some layout tweaking and you can make nice money with it...

Even though they took at 60% cut from my last payment I'm still using them because I still use other networks and it's just extra money on the side.

Same thing happened to me. On Dec 1 clicks dropped from a couple per day to 0. On thousands of impressions. Similar to the original poster. I've dropped Chitika. And yes, I did have relevant keywords.

I wasn't aware of this - I thought they only introduced the ability for detault ads to be served on that date.

So even if you have no defaults set up, the Chitika stats will only show money you will actually get paid, i.e. not pre-audited amounts.

I'm not sure where you're getting this info from!

Q: Does this mean there will be no need to audit the stats at the end of the month?

We still need to run our fraud detection algorithms so that we can filter out fraudulent clicks and bad quality traffic. But our goal is to put in place processes so that we can reduce the difference between the daily raw click stats and the final monthly audited stats.

Where did you hear this from? It's no wonder I've hit $0 on some days - used to be doing $10 to $15/day unaudited.

I've read it on geekvillage somewhere, and that was a surprise for me as well, because chitika never emailed me saying of this changes. However, looking at your own stats tell it for itself, that invalid clicks are not there anymore.

Chitika posted an updated on their blog today that they've started discounting/filtering clicks from unsupported countries on a daily basis ...probably in response to earlier complaints about audited revenues.

The bad news? They'll still be auditing the final amount at the end of each month for click fraud, merchant feedback, etc.

merchant feedback????? wtf??

So if a merchant doesn't like the amount of the clicks I sent him that didn't convert he/she get's their money back and I don't get paid?

Sure wish Google did that for adwords publishers.

Chitika sucks, I think thats the overall message from this thread.

Before I dropped them last month, 60k daily impressions made me less than 3$ after there lil audit.

I say we move on, a big performer right now is Bitvertiser.com

Yes, the Merchant feedback thing is a pretty big issue!

Merchant: "I don't want to pay you what we agreed, I didnt convert very well on the traffic you sent"

Chitika: "OK, we will "audit" their revenue to down 50% of what it was.

Merchant: "Sounds good to me"

Has anybody noticed dodgy ads being served by Chitika, or is it only in the UK? They've only just introduced UK targeted ads, so it may be teething troubles, but I've noticed the prices on the "best deals" section don't relate to the product described

For instance on my site -
Apple iPod nano 4gb white at Purelygadgets £399.95, but if you go to the Purelygadgets site its actually £209.95.

Not exactly going to set the punters alight is it?

Or perhaps more seriously on another site I came across -
Maxtor one touch 300GB usb hard drive advertised as £62.25 when its actually £151.56 at the site in question (clicking on the link takes you to a completely different product)

I wonder where the blame would lie if someone complained about false or misleading advertising?
