Alex,
From page 6 of the article: If you forget to grab the DOM Inspector at install time, it's not the end of the world. A simple but somewhat disruptive solution is to uninstall Firefox, then re-install it, choosing Custom Install when prompted. A better solution is to download the Inspector as a separate extension. Make sure that you read the release notes carefully before you jump on the download link: at this time, Firefox version 0.9.85 is the absolute minimum version required. The link referenced in the above text is for the Javascript Debugger. I commented that it was an incorrect link. Does anyone know where/how to download the Inspector as a separate extension, as referenced in the article/book? I understand it can be done if you re-install Firefox. But if it can be done by downloading the extension separately, I would prefer not to re-install. |

rob that is your perogative. but this is a discussion about a webbrowser. not your likes and dislikes of operating systems.
You need to understand firefox for development. off topic, is it your lack of knowledge of the windows architecture that limits you to linux? A pc user and developer should be seasoned on all browsers and architectures. Last edited by cobby; Jan 21, 2006 at 12:03. Reason: forgot info |
