Did he say they were making it from their program, or just that they were making 100K per month? LOL

He Said that they were makeing over $100,000 from their network since they got Level 5 in the azoogleads Rewards (Level 5 is for publishers who have at least $100,000 in revenue for the current month)

This is going to turn into one really long and funny thread. In all seriousness, $100k a month is my goal for 2006. I don't know if I can pull it off on just one network, but with all of them combined, I'm praying and hoping it will be possible. Just remember, you can do whatever you set your mind to. I NEVER in a million years thought I would be earning the numbers I get these days, and all it took was some hard work and fine tuning, and it was off to the races, and I haven't looked back since. It's definitely possible, likely though is a different story.

this is azoogleads he's talking about which is cpa. a lot of people buy adwords for azoogleads and the $100,000 is no doubt gross sales, not net income. so if you had a ton of money to spend on adwords you could probably pretty easily earn $100,000 in commissions.

Sometimes, I get very MLM-style vibes from affiliate marketing. I mean, I think affiliate marketing is a great way to start out on the internet, but $100000 per month just by referring people to other web sites? That seems a tad bit... cheesy. What does "make" refer to? Does it mean gross or net? After or before taxes? Is it a one-person shop, or a large company?

Maybe you should turn to the "dark side" of the force.
The first $100,000 is the hardest to earn. It's easy after that if you are smart.

I know LOTs of affiliate that make over 100K. Is it easy - no. Can it be done - YES! With lots of hard work and trial and error before you figure out the formula that works best for you. Some have big high traffic affiliate mall type sites, some do lots of PPC ads and some use datafeeds.

If it were easy enough to just tell you in a couple of paragraphs in a forum, then I assume everyone here would be making 100K. If I knew of a formula or book that would give you the magic recipe, I would be selling it! One book I do know that has helped LOTS of affiliates get off on the right foot and start making good money is the Affiliate Marketers Handbook from www.jamesmartell.com.

What they're probably not telling you is how much money it cost in advertising to bring their websites to this level. It is possible to do this, but it usually takes a large advertising investment to get anywhere near $100k/month. Also, a site that big probably has several employees, so that money would be split between a number of people.

OOOOOOOOPPPPPPPPS Sorry, I was talking 100K a year. Just re-read it.

Typically when companies talk about affiliates making over 100K a MONTH, they are not talking independent one man publishers working from home. They are talking about big companies like United Airlines, Looksmart and BizRate that are also affiliates and get paid on CPA just like others (only get cut much higher deals usually including slotting fees many times.)

I'm an optimist but dont see a typical one man show affiliate making that kind of cash monthly. No way. They are talking about the BIG companies that are affiliates.

You're wrong Linda. I actually know of three affiliate friends who are making $100k+ per month in affiliate advertising, and they are all one man operations. True, they each own a bunch of different websites, and two of them are involved in Adult, Gambling and Dating, but the other one sells just about anything under the sun via affiliate co-branding deals. I hope to get to that status by Jan-Mar 2006. The only thing I sell now is money. Maybe affiliates just need to start focusing on niche products that will sell well, rather on what pays out the most money, which is also a big reason why most publishers don't do as well as they can.

Hi Linda, Kieron here from England.

I have to disagree with you on this one. I am a Limited company who has been running for a couple of years now. I am also a "one man show" and I make over £80k profit (approx $146k) every month purely from affiliate marketing.

Moreover I know a handful of affiliates in the UK who make similar amounts.

I don't know how much of this is to do with the UK affiliate market differing from the US market but it is very much achievable.

Cheers!

Thanks mate. I don't really speak with many US affiliates so it will be good to get to know everyone here and trade ideas.

Cheers!
