Well obviously you are wrong. As you can see, I've written serveral Sitepoint articles and am successfully running www.olate.com and www.olate.co.uk - just because I'm 17 doesn't mean that it can't happen.

and the missing question was ...

Q::how do MySQL in general feel about the orignal refusal (or silence) to grant PHP an excemption from the new license model ? , do they they think that MySQL usage will suffer because of it ? or did they assume that because MySQL usage is widespread (especially on shared hosting) that the subsequent unbundling will make little or no difference ?

David, reminder surely has the right to his own opinion, but I'd say don't mind the trolls Congrats on the good interview, and on sitepoint's insight that you're a worthy contributor.

Aha, I should have RTFA beforehand. On closer inspection I find this article to be an interview, with the bulk majority of the text written by the interviewee. How is this "a bad marketing"?

And what does SitePoint want to convince us? To buy their free articles? Besides which, it's an interview... it's not like he played a major role in it anyway.

I think some people are jealous that a 17 year old has achieved so much.

Rightly said M. And I envy David as he has reached a stage at 17 of which I knew nothing when I was 17. Still, I've covered up quite fast.

I don't see how age has much to do with it, would you have known he was 17 if it hadn't been posted right next to the article? doubt it.

Even some of the more advanced articles on sitepoint have been written by younger people, quinn wrote this article when he was 13, it gives a pretty good indication of how advanced some people can be are at an early age.

I think it is a shame that some people are automatically prejudiced because of age or level of qualification. Sure, qualifications have a great deal of importance in many situations but not always. Some of the best and most well known people in the world started off young and even now don't have any 'college degree' qualifications.

I can't understand how my writing of an article would result in any bad marketing based on my age. Especially because this is an interview and I just wrote the questions - the majority of the content is provided by Zack from MySQL!

Thanks everyone for your support though. As Georgina said:

If the article wasn't up to the standard expected, then it wouldn't have been published.

Anyway, let's get back on topic and discuss the article rather than my age:
