Okay, but tell us HOW the migration went, any problems encountered and how to avoid them / solve them. As Si's post implies, that was what I too was expecting to be reading, and the article has nothing to do with the title.

This is the first negative response to a Sitepoint article I've ever made!

Well, I have to agree with the previous comments - this article isn't about migrating from MySQL 3 to 4, but it's like a case-study - a man tell some general workda about how he developed a site.

"I really became attracted to some of the open source technologies being developed, particularly Java and MySQL."

I must have missed something, please remind me, since when is Java an open source technology? ;-)

Hi!

I am new in java.

I usually work in php & mysql. But not I am going to work with jsp for a project.

I use NetServer for php & mysql. Can I use this mysql for creating the jsp database? If yes then how??

If not, then is there any problem to install mysql-3.23.39-win in D:\ drive?? I have installed NetServer, jakarta-tomcat-4.0.1.exe and j2sdk-1_4_2_12-windows-i586-p.exe all in D:\ drive.

Please tell me.

Regards
