Nice article! However, placing class file in default ROOT/WEB-INF/classes folder doesn't work until invoker servlet is enabled.

A good article for beginners. One think which could have been added is how to deploy the servlet at a new location, like otherthan the ROOT folder. I think that involves making changes to the web.xml, and server.xml file. I found configuring these files alo dificult, so need some information on this.

I studied article "Servlet Part 1", written by Kavin Yank. This article is fine & excelent. Inforamtion has been provided with simplicity without much technical jargon. Reader is not burried under the unncessary detail information. My confusion about servlet-name and servlet-mapping cleared after reading this article.

This articule gives a very good and simple guide to understand the basics around Servlets. This is the kind of tutorial that a programmer looks for when has to do something ASAP and does not have an idea of how to start.
