That article is over 6 months old.

I'll be buying the WDBK eventually (when I get paid from this current job, if that ever happens) - it sounds like it will be worth it for the pro forma forms and letters alone.

My wife bought this for me for Christmas 2003. I've enjoyed reading it and found some very useful information contained within but I do have a couple of constructive comments:

1> I think with all the documents being available on CD-ROM that the second binder could be eliminted altogether. You are going to use them as templates for modification anyway and the print version, to me, serves no purpose as I can review them online as I read the material. It would also cut down on shipping costs.

2> The first binder should be printed on both sides of the paper reducing the overall size of the binder making it less bulky, manageable and, again, less expensive to ship.

3> Needs additional editing. There are a number of spelling and grammar errors that make it seem less professional in its content.

4> Cool down on the exclamations! They are used way too often and tire the senses. They also tend to make it read like a motivational treatise instead of business practices and advice.

5> With the reductions in the package as stated above I think the price could be dropped ($149.00 US ?) and you may sell more copies regardless of the quantity you have sold in the past.

I did enjoy it and would recommend it to anyone after explaining these points. I do not regret my wife paying the price tag by any means. Regardless of my comments it was worth the money.

IMHO, on a scale of 1-10 I would rate it a 7.5-8.0. The edits mentioned above would definitely raise the bar at least one full point.

So, how do you find a good manager? seems like the ability to not worry about any of the other problems in the business rely's on a good manager. My worry in this case would be that you don't have much power over your own business, if your manager deceides to go crazy, or start their own business you could possible be left out to dry.

Thanks for the buying the kit - I'm glad you have found it useful. And thanks for your feedback.

Please shoot through any errors you find to the guys at SitePoint. You'll find the details in the front of the kit.

The exclamation points.......ummm, errr, yeh. There are a few. I remember when I was writing it that I was really trying to get my points across and kept using them. After cooling off and re-reading the chapter, I'd be thinking "Way too many !!!!'s. I'll get rid of them later."

But we didn't for a few reasons.

A few people have commented on the !! and I agree with them.

Thanks again for the feedback and all the best to you.

Hello Brendon,

I really loved the book!
However the second binder can be eliminated since the forms are inthe CD ROM and we all are going to use it from there itself.

I agree about the second binder... having the forms printed doesn't do any good because it's not like we can make a copy of them and use them. We have to customize them to use them for our business anyway. You could maybe offer the one binder and save a little on printing (and maybe pass the savings along).

Hello, I totally agree with beley.
If you guys can offer a full electronic version, you and all of us are going to save a good deal of money.
Please consider this option.

Best of Luck for all you, and congratulations for your excellent material.

I just did order this.

I also would have prefered an electronic download version.

I'd guess the main reason for no electronic version of this book (or any Site Point book for that matter) is that Sitepoint know that within 5 minutes of release, an electronic version will be spread across every P2P network like the plague.

I also agree that the second folder is just a complete waste of time. Not sure what the thinking was there.
