Pay Per Click Search Engine Directory!

Hi All,

Could you please review my Pay Per Click Search Engine Directory that is every growing.

What it is my PPC Search Engine Directory?
My PPC Search Engine Directory is a section on my site that lists over 200 search engines. Using this directory, people can easily search and find pay per click search engines that they would like to affiliate with.

People can easily compare one search engines affiliate program from the other by comparing things like the pay rate, min payout, payout date, etc.

The url for this directory is http://www.simplysearch4it.com/webma/ppcse/affdir.php

Please feel free to give any comments and suggestions.

Thanks!

It looks like there's a lot of stuff there. I don't like the colors: teal and blues? I'd add some padding to your tables, all your text is right up against your borders. Your banner image is highly pixelated. Maybe fix that. The site loads really slow, are you using a cache? Also, the different colors on each page are a bit, well, surprising. It looks like you've done a lot of work and that of course adds to your site. The things I'm mentioning here are just touch ups really.

I'm not likeing the colors a lot. The greens and blues are a bit washy on the page.

The informations looks to be layed out well, but it is very difficult to read. You should add some padding, and mabey even space the entries a bit. Everything runs together right now.

Other than that, it looks great.

I will second what has been said about the colors... definitly... But you've got a good point: since there is a lot of things written, your user can adjust the size of the font. Unfortunatly a lot of site don't give that opportunity...

Hi,

I have looked at all of your reviews and have now relaunched my Pay Per Click Search Engine Directory and also all of the other parts of my site.

So could you please look at my site again and see what you think of it now. Could you please say if you think it's improved or not.

I have also used some padding and have changed the colors plus I have also changed the font style to make it easier for people to read.

Please give your thoughts.

Thanks!

Wow ... sorry to say that for me too the colours do not work ... I don't think I saw the initial version but ... it's mainly the logo and top background you set.

Reading is easy, following through a page also. No issues there. But I would work on the top area (and maybe that moving light .. distracting a bit).

Hi,

Thanks again for more of your suggestions. I would like to say that I will be changing the header image as I also don't think that it's perfect do to the amount of flashing and also the pixels. It is only there for the time being untill I get a better image with no flashing and with better pixels.

Please keep your comments and suggestions comming in!

Thanks!

Hi John,

Ok, here goes - I didn't see the first incarnation but here are my thoughts:

  • the text looks readable w/regard to padding.
  • the colors are frightening, plain and simple. There are way too many for my taste and gives, IMO, the impression of cheesy or hard sales or personal amateur site. I think with a color scheme of complimentary colors, versus conflicting colors, things would be different because the layout of the text is good (if a little busy) on the link given, the home page and the online games page - less it better and use of whitespace to delineate content is not a bad thing.
  • speaking of busy, the site feels very very busy. I admit, I'm more for spartan design, however, there must be a happy medium - I don't know what to look at first because everything is screaming for my attention!
  • I don't like the moving light under the "welcome to simplysearch4it!" it's distracting.
  • online games page is very difficult to read with royal blue text on purple/blue background
  • e-cards page - just doesn't come together for me - the ads at the top keep me from getting what I want to get to, the cards. there's a lot of space in places I don't expect.
  • Each page is like visiting a different site - different font, colors, headers, style - confusing, except that the green simply search is the common denominator.
  • get rid of the presentational markup, at least - at best switch to total CSS and throw out your tables - the benefits are awesome!
  • I like the header behind the logo on the online games/home page (night with trees). In terms of design, that might be a nice place to start with a theme...
Good luck - I don't mean to be harsh but I want to be honest, as I see it, and as a net surfer, I would run away from this site. I think there is definite potental, but it needs work, IMO.

Toni

I second the opions on the color. It's abit heavy on the eyes. Are you trying to hypnotise me with the moving pic? I liked it as the page was loading, but I thought it would stop onload. Maybe a function to add.

I cannot see any reason why your not using em's for your sizing also. Some sites have problems with ems as they rely on mouse positions and scrollbar positions, but I cannot see anything dynamic within your site, so I suggest using ems or percentages for your sizing, it would work better for different browser font sizing.

hi

Hi,
major thing that needs to be changed is the colours to give it a more professional look.

shocking using Opera 7.11. The top blue banner is the only thing i see when i go on. Then I have to scroll horizontally to find the rest of the content. Also the top buttons with the pop up menu get screwed up - they overlap each other and you cant ever read them. Not a very cross browser site.

need to work on that CSS...
