Using Notepad - Funny

My best friend just redesigned his website using Notepad, He used to use M$ Frontpage, until I convinced him to switch to Dreamweaver. But he decided to try Notepad, since some of the wiseguys we know told him it was the only 'real' way to design.

So here was his Notepad version:
http://freeweb.pdq.net/satyr/

This is the funniest thing I've seen on the web in awhile. I told him I was going to copy it as a design possibility also.

Not bad. At least his code on the initial page is better on the other pages (which are mucked up by FrontPage)

That one REALLY makes me laugh. That's one of the best web-designer jokes I've ever seen. Tell your friend good job! And can he send me the program he used to make his little stick-man? lol

That's funny.

It's actually one of the most creative sites I've seen in a while.

It's almost like standing in the middle of the road with a board around your neck saying, "I will code HTML for food. Please Help!"

He should do the whole thing - it would go down in Web-designer history!

He might be the next "I KISS YOU" guy or something?!

Have the people who told him to code his site in Notepad seen it yet? I'd like to hear or see their response

I forwarded this thread to the guy who did the page. His nickname is Satyr, and I've known him for about 15 years now and call him that more than his actual name. (as just about everyone but his Mom).

He even image-mapped the buttons to other parts of his site (there's some funny junk in there).

He says he'll put back up the actual page soon and move the 'notepad' to his humour section. I plan on making a whole site using the same general idea as a laugh.

I have one client that seems to want an aweful color-scheme / design everytime they want a website for one of their companies. I might show them this as an example of what can be done, and they'll probably jump for it.

As somebody who does all of my coding in Notepad, I must say that this site is a perfect illustration of the power and control you can have when using Notepad. Notice the fine black lines achieved, as well as the incredible texture which is visible. Such lines and texture are noticeably missing from all coding using other means of generating HTML. Further, the simplicity of a Notepad design is emphasized by the stick figure, which is yet another exclusive feature of the Notepad environment.

ROTFLMAO!!!!!

I actually laughed out loud!

Funny thing is that my sites always look like that at some point, I tend to sit on the floor and scribble ideas onto paper... never thought of leaving them that way

Re: Using Notepad - Funny

BTW: He went back to his old style index.html page and moved the 'notepad version' to his humour section.

Direct link: http://freeweb.pdq.net/satyr/humor/notepad.htm

The rest of the site has some interesting stuff (humour, pictures, etc). Ignore the hungover shots of me. (as they are a few years old, they are past history)

Thank goodness. When I first got into the site, I was wondering what's so funny about it. Thought I was that dense.

Hmm, I've designed all of my pages in Notepad (although I do find that Notepad thing funny ).
