Sake - what's the deal?

Some may question the wisdom of posting a question about Japanese rice wine on a web development forum but hell this is the only forum I'm subscribed to...

I recently came by a magnum bottle of sake. Now whenever I've had sake it's always been served warm. But how do you heat it up? Any suggestions?
Pour it into a pan on the cooker? Put the whole botle into a pan of warm water? Stick it in the kettle? What?
