Post a few pics of your hometown..

This grew out of another thread..so bear with it

Dan, if you could repost your pics taken around Aurora that would be great.

The first one was taken after torrential rain had flooded my street.

The next one was taken in a park near the city, in the distance you can make out the structure of the Millenium stadium. Home of Welsh rubgy.

And then the view from the top of my apartment building (easy fire-escape access)

and the last is a poor quality pic of the University Main building at sunset.

More or less the view from my house in Lima, Peru. To the left:

To the right:

A sight not so commonly seen in Lima any more - a knife sharpener. They play some high-pitched pan-pipes as they walk down the street to let people know they're there.

Cerro Azul, the beach south of Lima I go to every summer:

It's a small fishing village and they go out early each morning. Most of the fish ends up in Lima's supermarkets. Taken from the pier.

And this is the view from my rooftop in London. Not so exciting, except for the fact I took it on Guy Fawkes' night.

It looks like there is either a VERY large bonfire in your last pic Raffles or else there is a bomb going off.

Those are fireworks, I mentioned the photo was taken on Guy Fawkes' night.

Thanks Andy. I just wish I had some better ones, most of them were taken on quite cloudy days.

I'm going to try and get a few pictures of Cardiff in the next few weeks to show here for anyone who's interested.

there's some really nice architechture in the old civic center plus some really nice old-town-style arcades which have a really nice feel to them also.

For now, here are some of pics of my girlfriends hometown which I've been to. Not strictly in the 'pics of your hometown' nature of this thread but it's a great place that means as much to me as her so I hope I've captured well enough.

A little view above the race course

A pic of the Buddha from Lantau Island

The tallest building in Hongkong

the lippo and dragon's tooth buildings.

hope you enjoy!

I enjoy this thread. I only have 2 pictures right now from my home island named Anna Maria Island, I have to go out and take some. Here is a shot from the sky to show the chain of islands that Anna Maria belongs to, the other photo is of the little Theater in the middle of our town of 800 people.

Then we have one of the great bridges of the world connecting the two sides of Tampa bay. The Sunshine Skyway Bridge. We see this bridge from our island. Spectacular:

And since I do not have more photos of my own, here are a few beach shots on this site:

And this little writing captures the essence of the place:
