Hi

I want to create an App which can interact with the MSN, or Google talk networks.

Essentially what i want is this: I want to create a user for my website. Then, i want users to be able to add this user to their buddy list, then they will recieve IM when new content is added to the site.

I want to write a program which can interact with the respective API's to:
- login
- retrieve buddy list
- send IM to each user in the buddy list (if they are online).

I remember finding an API which worked for MSN last year (you could build an entire MSN client), but it was a little buggy...and i can't remember what it was now!

can anyone help me?

i have posted this in the .NET section, but API could be with java or anything else really. im not fussy.
