Happy Halloween. I love Halloween, it is one of my favorite holidays but I must say the whole 'unwelcome knock on the door and the snotty kid asking for candy or else he'll/she'll trash your place' thing is not appealing. I guess if any country did it, America is the one to teach the youth to go around asking strangers for candy that will only make you fat or poison you because some crazy old man/woman injected super blue-green kryptonite into your goatmilky-way.

I bought a book this weekend titled "The 100 Simple Secrets of Happy People". Oh joy, I get to counsel myself on how to be a well-rounded, satisfied, content, living-breathing human male. But seriously people, it is a good book. Too many of us need to read it. Facial expressions are contagious, so smile! Nobody wants to feel like they are riding an over-crowded, stinky, about to blow subway in Budapest now do they? I wonder if I will be able to reach back a whole 2 days in my mind and jot down the various activities? Oh yes, now I remember. I'm in the passport process, I had my picture taken for it just the other day. I believe I will have to wait to go complete the order for the international passport until I receive my Minnesota license. All this makes me feel like I'm in the middle of the "Bourne Identity" series. That is something I have not told many people about. I have always fancied to be a spy! Oh the wonders of world travel and government ties.

I realized German is a much more logical language than English. I mean, they have genders for every word. How could it not be! Why, it would be absurd to not think such a thing. Just one example - in English when you feel cold you would say "I am cold". In German, you would say "Mir ist kalt" which literally translates to "To me is cold". You would not say "Ich bin kalt". When one says "I am", it suggests they are that. If the weather is cold, you feel cold, you are however, not cold. For one to say "I am cold" is as if saying as a person they are cold. When in German they just simply say the weather makes their bodies feel cold, and are not stating they are a cold person. Cold as in 'mean' for those who couldn't get it.

The rain pressed through the metro with uplifting spirits most of the day, rain just brings out the best of me. I rearranged the living room furniture of my apartment tonight, the change put a more home feel to it. I need change quite often when it comes to house arrangements. I need change quite often when it comes to a lot of things really. Constant thoughts of Germany keep floating about in my head. If you want, donate to the "Send Matthew to Germany" fund. Please, you will be rewarded.

My friend Anne from Berlin called me today, it's been a long time since we chatted so we had a lot of catching up to do. I also had the opportunity to practice some of my German. On another German note, if you have not listened to the new Rammstein album "Reise, Reise" you had better figure out a way to. Fantastisch! Language class continues, and I wait to hear from the German Consul about my prospecting occupation.

I just finished my facial mask. Exfoliating twice a week is vital. Hooray for proper skin care. I switched over my Missouri license to Minnesota yesterday, so I am now an official Minnesoter. Yah, you betcha! Next I will have to obtain my international passport. Also some new music is in the works. Will it ever be released to the public eye.. who knows?

Our weekend Wisconsin trip was pleasant and we stocked up on good cheese products. It was quite rainy most of the time, but the sun did shine on our last day there. It's nice having Christine's sister just 2 hours away, she is the closest family to us geographically. Staying at Sara and Darren's can be exhausting just observing them. Always tending to the kids, working, and slaving over various tasks. Makes me second guess if I really want to have kids in the future. Not for awhile at least.

I received some important documents in the mail today. If you had a very important document. Where would you put it? Also, does anyone know exactly what I would need in order to travel to Germany for just 2 weeks? Any papers or things of that sort?

Well my car now has Illinois plates on it. I currently live in Minnesota, and grew up in Missouri but yet my car has Illinois plates. It's a crazy world out there. I think from now on I will mostly download music. I also want to purchase an ipod. It would save a lot of money it the long run because there would be no use to buy a new 20 dollar CD every week, just go and download the music and put it on the ol' pod. Too bad it would set me back about $250. But really, if you figure it up I would be saving money.

Christine's parents just left not too long ago. They stopped by at our humble little abode burried deep within the city on their way to Wisconsin. They seemed to approve of the place and we took them out to eat at the Highland Grille. Very good meal. Christine's mother Mary Jo talked like she wanted to come back again and stay over night, woot woot - ladies night! Now Christine is at work and I'm here, as soon as she gets back we will meet up with her family in Wisconsin and stay the weekend. Thank goodness for cheese-curds.

I whipped out the pink Oxford today, it looks very chic. The weather is quite rainy today, and cold. I tend to enjoy that syle of weather though, it's relaxing. A couple nights back I went to a play about the Vietnam War and the nurses that served America during the war. It was intense and eye-opening. There was a lot of crack in the 70's.

I had a nice phone chat with my sister Gloria the other night, she is teaching the hoodlums of Quincy Illinois how to play ping-pong and learning how to deal with über fanatic Christians that live next door. Oh the joys of the heart of America.

Today was quite the adventure. I transported myself to Barnes & Noble to pick up Carson Kressley's new book "Off the Cuff". Being as I am such a hipster I think I deserved to own this book. After this great purchase I marched myself on over to the Mall of America to have my book signed. The person signing the book was of course Carson himself. He was a great guy and had a wonderful aura about him. This made me want to go out and buy the whole series of "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy". It stinks I do not receive Bravo as a TV channel anymore. Oh well, such is the plight of a unemployed struggling germanist/artist. I returned home and shared my excitement with Christine and we then settled down and watched "Lion in the Winter". This movie really made me appreaciate my girl and the love we have.
</p>
<p align="justify">
I talked on the phone with my parents today. My mom is always so supportive of me, and has helped me through a lot of tough times (teenage high-school years are a drag). I think I am just now maturing with my views on life. Growing up I didn't really appreaciate things as much. I look back and regret a lot of actions I did. I just want to take this time to thank my parents for putting up with me when I was being a douche-bag and for showing me love and support even when it seemed like I didn't care. Man o man, I don't know if I ever would like to have kids. They require a lot of money.

Living in the city ist wunderbar. Yesterday Christine and I took a delightful trip to the Minneapolis Museum and experienced history. I love history. Today the weather was cold, dark, and rainy (with some snow mix). Truely it is a pretty thing to see the skyline amongst the overcast skies, to see so many cultures, to be accepted, to have opportunity, to be happy. Of course I can't forget my country roots, there are always those times when nothing but open skies are on your mind.

At times it seems as if in this world you cannot work for just yourself, or to help others. Big companies employ human beings to be their slaves. How can anyone stand to dedicate more than 5 minutes to help these people out. Are they even people, or just machines? If I could abolish two things in this world it would be big capitalization and globalization. Where did the small, independent shops run off and hide at? Of course my pocket killing me for boycotting the "man". But I am proud to give that extra dollar to the small guy. I am proud to not bust my *** for a piece-o-crap paycheck from some jerk of a company. Am I living in the wrong time period? Please tell me if you feel the same way.

Yesterday I went to the "Deutsches Haus" to purchase my imported German goodies. I bought some Milka schokolade and a "Der Spiegel" magazine. Which reminds me, after writing this I need to attend to my German studies. Fellow musician Jonathan Waldo called me up last night in a panic for me to get online so he could send me a new track he had been working on. So I hopped online and he sent me the file. The future of our music collaboration is looking good.

Deutsche classe gestern war spaß und informativ. Meine Lehrerin ist echt nett, sie macht eine gute Aufgabe. Hier es wird kalt, und regnet.

Like I said, German class last night was a lot of fun and very informative. Frau Amann is a great teacher, she explains things so good and takes time to actually teach the class. She makes sure we all fully comprehend. The other day I was having trouble under standing the der, die, das part of the language and then it just clicked and I understood it. Isn't it funny how the brain works? I believe in every brain there is a specimen of some sort running around in charge of making sure everything is ticking. My idea is that I have a cute little faerie that is taking care of things upstairs, but sometimes she can get lost up there.

The weather man is saying that there could be snow flurries this weekend. Seems a bit early, eh? I will have to train myself to love the snow since I chose my current habitat to be in the Twin Cities. Oh well, this is a great place to be. Plenty-O-Opportunity for everything. The Fall colors are very soothing I must add. Today and Tommorow will be my last days at R.S. Working there has been stressful. I might be stepping out on a limb when I say this, but customer service is not for me. I don't believe I'll be missing the job too much. Sowieso. I discovered there is a German grocery store up on the north side of town. Friday I will venture up to see what goodies they have to offer. Who knows, maybe they will carry Milka chokolade!

I once read a wise man's ramblings about his views on life. One statement this man said that has always stuck along with me is, "Life is like a bag of scrumpti-delicious cookies. You eat away at each cookie as if you will never run out, until you start getting to the bottom of the bag and then you wish you would have spent more time with each cookie, and savored it more." Me, I want to eat each cookie as if the cookie-factory is going out of business so I can truely appreaciate the awesome taste that is life. Making time, a lot of time to float away and really look and observe the un-noticed simple things in life is something I must start practicing. Perhaps I get lost enough already, but in life you should be lost. Because if you know where you are, then what's the suprise and fast-paced heart beats in that?
</p>
<p align="justify">
Enough of the philosophizing today. Christine and I just returned from Aldi's, they have good food at a great price there. My girlfriend is rather fanatic about the place which is ok with me (but sometimes it can get scary). Last weekend we also took a get-away-from-the-city trip and landed in <a href="http://www.saintcroixriver.com/html_docs/towns_scvrta/taylorsfalls.html" target="_blank">Taylors Falls</a>. There we went canoeing, enjoyed the scenery and went Mini-Golfing. Good times.

I think I should just note a few things about A Drop of Morning Dew. It is my personal site but it is not just about me as a person. 'Tis a place for I to showcase my music, sell my stuff, provide web-design services, provide language translation services (German-English/English-German), keep a journal, post my photography work, and various other things that you will see pop up as the site grows. Sort of like a palm pilot organizer for myself in website form. You might also take heed that this is a bilingual website utilizing the German and English language.

Maybe some nifty people will take an interest. I'm off to the bat-cave to finish my Hausaufgabe!

Hi,
If you want elements on one line then they either need to be floated or declared as diplay:inline. Which you choose does depend on what you want to happen next and what properties you need to apply to the elements as inline elements do not take dimensions. The spacing issies in most cases are simply the default margin and paddings added to elements that it's your job to explicitly control. You shouldn't use span tags for your date headings as the are not inline elements and really should be p tags or possibly heading tags as they are headings. Heres a quick example of your page with some of the above implemented . If you work thorough the code you should make sense of it. But you can ask questions tomorrow as I'm offline now ![]() Code:

I love Halloween, it is one of my favorite holidays but I must say the whole 'unwelcome knock on the door and the snotty kid asking for candy or else he'll/she'll trash your place' thing is not appealing. I guess if any country did it, America is the one to teach the youth to go around asking strangers for candy that will only make you fat or poison you because some crazy old man/woman injected super blue-green kryptonite into your goatmilky-way. </p> <p align="justify"> I bought a book this weekend titled "The 100 Simple Secrets of Happy People". </p> <p align="justify"> I realized German is a much more logical language than English. </p> <h2 class="Date">Oktober 28, 2004</h2> <p align="justify"> The rain pressed through the metro with uplifting spirits most of the day, rain just brings out the best of me. </p> <p align="justify"> My friend Anne from Berlin called me today, it's been a long time since we chatted so we had a lot of catching up to do. I also had the opportunity to practice some of my German. On another German note, if you have not listened to the new Rammstein album "Reise, Reise" you had better figure out a way to. Fantastisch! Language class continues, and I wait to hear from the German Consul about my prospecting occupation. </p> <p align="justify"> I just finished my facial mask. Exfoliating twice a week is vital. Hooray for proper skin care. I switched over my Missouri license to Minnesota yesterday, so I am now an official Minnesoter. Yah, you betcha! Next I will have to obtain my international passport. Also some new music is in the works. Will it ever be released to the public eye.. who knows? </p> <h2 class="Date">Oktober 25, 2004</h2> <p align="justify"> Our weekend Wisconsin trip was pleasant and we stocked up on good cheese products. </p> <p align="justify"> I received some important documents in the mail today. If you had a very important document. Where would you put it? Also, does anyone know exactly what I would need in order to travel to Germany for just 2 weeks? Any papers or things of that sort? </p> <p align="justify"> Well my car now has Illinois plates on it. </p> <h2 class="Date">Oktober 22, 2004</h2> <p align="justify"> Christine's parents just left not too long ago. </p> <p align="justify"> I whipped out the pink Oxford today, it looks very chic. The weather is quite rainy today, and cold. I tend to enjoy that syle of weather though, it's relaxing. A couple nights back I went to a play about the Vietnam War and the nurses that served America during the war. It was intense and eye-opening. There was a lot of crack in the 70's. </p> <p align="justify"> I had a nice phone chat with my sister Gloria the other night, she is teaching the hoodlums of Quincy Illinois how to play ping-pong and learning how to deal with über fanatic Christians that live next door. Oh the joys of the heart of America. </p> <h2 class="Date">Oktober 17, 2004</h2> <p align="justify"> Today was quite the adventure. </p> <p align="justify"> I talked on the phone with my parents today. </p> <p align="justify"> Living in the city ist wunderbar. </p> <h2 class="Date">Oktober 16, 2004</h2> <p align="justify"> At times it seems as if in this world you cannot work for just yourself, or to help others. </p> <p align="justify"> Yesterday I went to the "Deutsches Haus" to purchase my imported German goodies. </p> <p align="justify"> I now have AOL Instant Messenger again, so if you want to talk with me my identification is herrmatthewglass. Well I'm off to study and write a song. </p> <p align="justify"> Like I said, German class last night was a lot of fun and very informative. </p> <p align="justify"> The weather man is saying that there could be snow flurries this weekend. </p> <h2 class="Date">Oktober 12, 2004</h2> <p align="justify"> I once read a wise man's ramblings about his views on life. </p> <p align="justify"> Enough of the philosophizing today. Christine and I just returned from Aldi's, they have good food at a great price there. My girlfriend is rather fanatic about the place which is ok with me (but sometimes it can get scary). Last weekend we also took a get-away-from-the-city trip and landed in <a href="http://www.saintcroixriver.com/html_...lorsfalls.html" target="_blank">Taylors Falls</a>. There we went canoeing, enjoyed the scenery and went Mini-Golfing. Good times. </p> <p align="justify"> I think I should just note a few things about A Drop of Morning Dew. </p> <p align="justify"> Maybe some nifty people will take an interest. I'm off to the bat-cave to finish my Hausaufgabe! </p> <hr> <p class="copyright">© Copyright 2004 <a href="<A href="mailto:matt@adropofmorningdew.com">Matthew">mailto:matt@adropofmorningdew.com">Matthew Glass</a>.
