Postcard Help
Hello-
I have a question. I have designed the front of my postcard. www.destreedesign.com/postcard.jpg I need help coming up with the text for the back of the postcard. How do I word it so customers would be interested? Any suggestions? I am targeting businesses with "bad designs" but also businesses without any website. I think the front of my postcard fits both. Thanks! |

I am doing a similar postcard mailing. I have written a few "What can a web site do for you?"-type articles and the text on the back of my card urges the recipients to call me or visit my web site to request the booklet. (Taking a cue from trust-based marketing.)
The text starts out with a question like "Is your web site working for you?" or "Would you like to see more profits from your web site?" and then offers the free report. I actually have two postcards -- one for businesses with sites, and one for businesses without. I have tailored the back message and the articles for the different types. For the folks with web sites, I offer a free web site "critique with suggestions" which I do from the comfort of my own bunny slippers. The postcard to the businesses that have sites get a message mentioning this and urging them to call/visit my web site for more info. BTW -- love the card! ![]() |

Hi Maire...what an excellent first post! I think you've got the right idea there and I'm sure your campaign will prove profitable.
Jor...I love the look and the creative work you did for that postcard, but you need a strong offer to get people to contact you. In keeping with my other random posts around here...I feel the "two step" approach Maire is using is the best. Sure, you could be like most businesses and just say "Call us to see what we can do for you, yada yada yada"...but I really believe that an offer to visit your site for more FREE and valuable information would work best for you. Ideally you want to offer this in exchange for their contact information (a name and email is enough) and offering a free report or monthly newsletter to your visitors is a great way to do that. Let us know how you make out with your mailing! Steve |
