    Howdy people.

Here's a good one, when all you design types are done designing websites for the day, do you like to relax in front of a computer game or console? If so, which one?

I'll answer first, I spend hours and hours playing The Bioware Infinity Engine type games like Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale and Planescape Torment - that stems from being a big AD&D fan, though I don't play much these days. Also, has anyone tested Baldur's Gate II yet? I'm going to try and beat Icewind Dale before I invest in it.

I like games similar to "Bust a Move"...the one where the little dragons shoot the colored bubbles around and try to match up the colors...like tetris, but nice and light-hearted and less technology...calms me down a bit.

I prefer consol over PC. I have a Sony Playstation, which I'm afraid is dying because I've played it so much. Starting to burn out I guess. So I guess I gotta get a PSX2 when they arrive here in the US. Anyway, I like Metal Gear Solid and games like that. BUT I do like Age of Empires for PC.

MUDs, wow, I used to play those all the time, and have just started to rediscover them.

Anyone know any good telnet based ones? (Telnet is nice and easy to disguise at work )

Also, this may be a flight of fancy, but i'd quite like to take a crack at writing one, one day. Anyone know any decent tutorials or resources on how to do this?

There is actually free mud source code online somewhere. Written in C I think, alot of them are based off it.

AS for telnet, most allow you to connect this way. Even the game I play even though they have custom front ends if you know what you're doing you can connection through telnet or other programs.

MUDS are cool, you have to type pretty fast to play a MUD so it really helped my typing skills.

I have no time for computer games, unless it is a game that doesnt use many resources, like warcraft 2 (god I love that game)

I have a Nintendo 64 with 3 games, Legends of Zelda: Ocarina of time, James Bond 007 and Mario Kart 64.

I'll probaly add more games soon. I like to play one game over and over again until I've perfected it, then I buy a new one, weird eh?

Ever tried StarCraft? sort of a sequel to Warcraft II, futuristic though. That's a fantastic game, and online play is kickin'

I've got Warcraft II as well, as well as Warcraft I, Warcraft III is coming out isn't it? I'll have to get that too!

    Starcraft is an excellent game

Warcraft 3 is coming out soon but I'm not sure when, it seems to have have changed quite a bit. I don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing.

I've never gotten into computer games. I don't know why. I guess I don't want people to think I smell gamey or something. I wasn't into video games as a teen either.

I entertain myself in forums like SitePointForums.com! Did you know that every time I say SitePoint as an advisor I get paid? Yep, but it's in Monopoly money, so it is kind of like a computer game.

LZOOT, JamesBond, MarioKart64: nothing else to buy on the N64, all the rest is **** compared to these.

I agree with Russel. I don't own an N64 and for my sins have never played on one. But Zelda 64 looks **** cool, Pokemon stadium appeals to my 10 year old side and some other games look really good too.

All we need now on it is Baldur's Gate

I'm going to resurrect this thread rather than start a new one on practically the same topic.

Has anyone heard of a new up and coming game called NeverWinter Nights? It's apparently a cross between Baldur's Gate and Everquest offering online play and quest authoring goodies.

Am I the only one who's spine tingles at this prospect?

Info is pretty scarce round here, apart from the official site, has anyone got any links to reviews etc?
