    URL Masking / Redirect

    (this might not be in the right forum, so please move it if necessary)

    Hi, how would you do URL masking with wildcards?

    for example:

    http://web.bxboy.com --> http://home.bxboy.com:8080
    http://web.bxboy.com/test --> http://home.bxboy.com:8080/test

    Note: home.bxboy.com is automatically updated each time my dynamic ip changes, so that's not a problem.

    web.bxboy.com is a server at my work.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

    Uh ?
    Do you mean to modify DNS settings ?
    Sorry, but about DNS settings I can't help.

    Based on your example,
    write into an .htaccess into your web.bxboy.com server (in the document root of that server ) :

    RedirectMatch ^(.*)$ http://home.bxboy.com:8080$1

    so it will redirect every request from web.bxboy.com/etcetc to home.bxboy.com:8080/etcetc
