    Using videos on your site

I am willing to put some videos on my site, but I am not really sure how to do it. I would like to use RealPlayer or Quicktime, but I have heard it's expensive???? I mean, I don't know how could it be, but anyway.... I really dislike WMP because it forces people to have microsoft stuff, and it takes longer to load as well. So please, any help would be more than welcome!!!!!!

yes please... just made a film the other day, and i'd like to get it on the web...
    difficulties i see:

    -20-25Mb (even zipped)
-*.rm file types (might have to be converted)

    is there an easy way?

»just a freak idea: what if i cut the video into single images (lets say every 0.1 second / 10 images per second) and create a (very large) *.gif image...?

you don't need any expensive software or streaming server to have a few video files on your site, as long as the traffic you're expecting to get is low.
for quicktime files, simply stick them on your webspace for people to download, or embed a player in your pages.
same for real files, although they work best if you create an additional "reference" file which points to the actual real audio/video file itself.
have a look at http://www.streamingmedia.com/ and other such sites for tips and advice on these issues...
