    Angry Netscape 6 VS Netscape 7- CSS issues

    Hello all,

    I have designed a site that uses external CSS. It looks fine in Netscape 6 but when I try it on Netscape 7 the CSS isn't being used.

    Can anyone help me?

    well...a link to your design would help, so we can have a look at the source code...

    A link would certainly be helpful!

    I used NS6 and currently use NS7 regularly (as I type away here in IE). I also develop sites and have never noticed any probs with NS7 and external style sheets. If you provide a link, I will be happy to peek at it in NS7.

    I don't have the site "up" anywhere yet.

    Here is the html code on the page just before the body tag.

    'blue' refers to a directory where I keep many of my images and css files

    Code:

    <html>
     <head>
      <meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html;charset=iso-8859-1">
      <title>testpage</title>
      <script src="js/utility.js" language="Javascript"></script>
      <script src="js/menu.js" language="Javascript"></script>
      <script src="js/arrays.js" language="Javascript"></script>
      <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="blue/menu_master.css">
      <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="blue/master.css">
      <style media="screen" type="text/css"><!--
    --></style>
    And the CSS files

    master.css
    Code:

    body {background-color: #ffffff; font-size: 12px; font-family: Times, Times New Roman, Arial; font-color: #000000;}
    .hLine {background-color: #000088;}
    .vLine{background-color: #000088;}
    .columnTitle {color:#000088; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none}
    .searchNotify{font-weight: bold}
    .underSearch{background-color: #000000;}
    .categoryBG{background-color: #000088;}
    .description{font-weight: bold}
    .categories{color: #ffffff;}
    .statstable1{background-color: #e1e1e1}
    .statstable2{background-color: #efefef}
    .statstable3{background-color: #eeeeee}
    a.top:link{color: #ffffff; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none}
    a.top:hover{color: #ffffff; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none}
    a.top:active{color: #ffffff; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none}
    a.top:visited{color: #ffffff; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none}
    a.mainLink:link{color: blue; text-decoration: underline}
    a.mainLink:hover{color: maroon; text-decoration: none}
    a.mainLink:active{color: blue; text-decoration: none}
    a.mainLink:visited{color: maroon;}
    a.categoriesLink:link{color: #ffffff; text-decoration: underline}
    a.categoriesLink:hover{color: #ffffff; text-decoration: none}
    a.categoriesLink:active{color: #ffffff; text-decoration: none}
    a.categoriesLink:visited{color: #ffffff;}
    a.infoLink:link{color: blue; text-decoration: none}
    a.infoLink:hover{color: blue; text-decoration: underline}
    a.infoLink:active{color: blue; text-decoration: underline}
    a.infoLink:visited{color: maroon;}
    .header1{color:#000088; font-weight: bold; font-size: 22px; text-decoration: none}
    a.infoCopy:link{color: blue; font-size: 11px; text-decoration: none}
    a.infoCopy:hover{color: blue; font-size: 11px; text-decoration: underline}
    a.infoCopy:active{color: blue; font-size: 11px; text-decoration: underline}
    a.infoCopy:visited{color: font-size: 11px; maroon;}
    menu_master.css
    Code:
    .overmenu { color: #000000; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; background-color: #bebebe; border-top: 1px solid #000000; border-left: 1px solid #000000; border-right: 1px solid #000000;}
    .outmenu {color: #ffffff;  font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; background-color: #000088;  border-top: 1px solid #000088; border-left: 1px solid #000000; border-right: 1px solid #000000;}
    .overmenu1 { color: #000000; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; background-color: #bebebe; border-top: 1px solid #000000; border-left: 1px solid #000000; border-right: 1px solid #000000;}
    .outmenu1 {color: #ffffff;  font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; background-color: #000088; border-top: 1px solid #000000; border-left: 1px solid #000000; border-right: 1px solid #000000;}
    .overmenun { color: #000000; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; background-color: #bebebe; border-top: 1px solid #000000; border-bottom: 1px solid #000000; border-left: 1px solid #000000; border-right: 1px solid #000000;}
    .outmenun {color: #ffffff;  font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; background-color: #000088;  border-top: 1px solid #000088; border-bottom: 1px solid #000000; border-left: 1px solid #000000; border-right: 1px solid #000000;}
    .externalMenuFormat {text-decoration: none;}
    Like I said this code works with Netscape 6 and IE 5.5+ but Netscape 7 won't.

    Thanks

    Ok this is weird...

    I was testing my site on a windows 98 machine that didn't have any updates on it besides Netscape 7.
    It was "fresh out of the box" so to speak and my site didn't display properly.

    I tried the site on a machine with windows 98 that has upgrades on it (and Netscape 7) and it looks fine.
