    Customizing Joomla 2.5 Atomic Template

    Hello,
I want to customize the Joomla 2.5 Atomic template as per design. But, as I learned that the customizations will be lost once I update Joomla. I don't want that to happen because I will be doing a lot of customizations and redoing that won't be a good idea after each updation.
I want my customized template to be intact even after Joomla updation.

So, can any one throw some light on how to achieve it?

    Thanks!

    Djsahay,

I’m not sure if this is the only solution but one thing that you could try is to save a copy of the template file (which is usually found at templates/atomic). After you have updated Joomla, you can try replacing the updated atomic theme with the copy. Again I don’t know if this will work as updates applied to the new version of a theme will not carry over and the copy may not work.

Maybe you can find an answer here,

    http://docs.joomla.org/Template_FAQs

    Hope that helps,

    Shawn
