I'm looking forward to Cable, which should be in my area within 3 months. I'll be switching to that immediately!

I usually download 100mb a day (includes about 20mb Mp3s), I'm on ISDN (128kb). In my 'downloaded stuff' partition I have about 7.2gb, but this includes Cds that I just copied to my hdd because I couldn't be bothered to burn cds.

I download a ton, but dont have an actual count. Probably ten megabites a day? Not everyday but probably average. I download a lot of Mp3s and lots of files. I have downloaded to linux distribs that were both 600 megs. On my 56k. Ouch.

I have no idea how much I have downloaded but I use the Net both at home and at work were we have a permanent connection. I wish I could get ADSL but it is REALLY expensive.

Not really the same thing but..

I play a text based mud, Gemstone III, and I log everything when I'm playing. Every few months I clear em off. But when I clear them off their usually around 300mb. 300mb of text I have read... crazy.

Some days I don't download anything but a few Megs, but on other days I download suddenly almost 1 GB a day.

Last time I 'accidently' formatted my HD, I had to download everything again. It took me one day to get the programs and data again. It was more than 500 MB BTW.

I download about 100Mb a day usually on my 56k Modem. I am waiting for ADSL at the moment, they tell me I can have it but won't tell me when - In the true fashion of British Telecom and if they don't hurry up Telewest will beat them to the door with a cable modem (Slightly slower but slightly cheaper).

ADSL is 256k upload speed which is the same as most cable modems (well in the UK at least), most cable nodes are over subscribed anyway so can't keep up with anywhere near there quoted speeds - the same will probably happen to ADSL too.
