Angry you gotta love software !!

    My story ...

I finished my tv-evening and thought about getting some design work done, as it seems , my brother crashed the pc and turned it off ( the hard way ) and went to sleep. Since I'm at home ( normally I'm at my dormatory ) I have to use this pc. So what did I get when I started the pc ? "can't load profile" after that message the pc boots normal EXCEPT :

    * all settings are on default
    * every single file on the desktop has been DELETED, unfortunatly I kept all my files there like:
    - 7 webdesigns ( non-commercial but still ) GONE
    - several tweaked scripts GONE
    - bookmarks GONE
    - ...

    * msn messenger refuses to accept my password eventough I'm 100% sure it's correct.
    * keyboard settings set to ('(( qwuerty

That's all I have found out so far but I'm sure I'll find other non-plesant things in the next houre.

I have never been more p*ssed at a pc then I am now.

    Hm, I see, that stinks..

Yeah, nothing works with Linux so well Only problem, but thats' about it..

What's the MSN error? my someonwhois@sowibb.com and sowi@sowibb.com addresses went dead and it complained, saying "the service is temporarily unavailable." but it never came back. And my passport still logged in fine.

You use your percept.be domain, eh? Login at passport.net, and under your profile something about changing e-mails.. change it to something like test@percept.be or whatever, and pick up the verification under the catch all address That's what I've been doing lately, for my MSN addresses.

    Regards,
    Someonewhois

From my personal experience, Linux is more stable (if properly configured) and is more customizable. However, it is not the most user friendly OS. Therefore it is not yet the main choice for PCs. Also there is the lack of drivers and applications for Linux that prevents many users from switching over.
