What is better BoardPower or Ultraboard.
Do they require ads?
Which is faster?
Which is the easiest to setup?

Hmm..UltraBoard setup should be easy...

Don't both of those cost money? If so, why not get vBulletin?

Hi
I like boardpower. It has every feature I need, it's free, and I didn't find it hard to setup. Board power has a template page that puts an add on all the pages but you have to edit it anyways so you can just remove the banner while your at it. You can't remove the powered by text from the buttom but I don't think you can on any board(just look at the bottom of this board). I never used ultraboard so I can't comment on it.

I'm with Marc James. I'd go with vBulletin. It's worth paying for.

UltraBoard costs $39.95 USD for the standard edition or $199.95 for the standard edition without "Powerd by ___".
There is a personal edition, which is most likely severely limited.
BoardPower is great - and it's always getting better. UB2k is also great from what I have seen. Well worth the money. vBulletin - even better.
Bottom line: If you pay for your board, you won't get ripped off with UBB/UB/vB. If you don't pay, you also won't get ripped

Just get version 1.6 something of Ultraboard. IMHO I think it's better then Boardpower (I find boardpower to be dreadfully slow) if you need version 1.6 get it from the site or email me.

BoardPower is always updating...plus there are lots of hackers working on it. You won't have a stale version of a forum that will never change...plus, BoardPower is easier to edit.
I do think that UB 1.62 and 1.62.5 have a nicer layout, but I recommend BoardPower over UB 1.62.5

I guess boardpower looks a little plain, but you can customize it so much... I believe http://bphackers.com/ is a hack site for BP.

I take it we are talking about forums/discussion boards? Look into ezboard. Its free and completely customizable. It does have some ads on it, but you can control where they appear.
