    I thought PHP always used sendmail...
    but, ya, I've got sendmail. The path is set to the default, and the from is set to 'me@localhost.com' but it says that from setting is only for Win32 users. BTW, remind me what Win32 is? Is that a Windows thing?
    any ideas?

    Yes, Win32 is the 32 bit Windows architecture (i.e., Windows 95 and newer).

    However, me@localhost.com seems okay (for your own server).

    Hi - Interesting if this could be complemented with a code to merge names into the address fields and also merge the name into the message. In that way you could send several mails to a mailing list and personalize it with the name of the receiver in the text... Dear Xxxxx, . Do you have any ideas how that can be done?

    mvtiturbo, you have a couple options. If you already have an SMTP email account, you could use those settings in your php.ini (around line 605). If not, install an SMTP server and use that. Some free SMTP servers for Windows are PostCast Server and MailEnable.

    There's a section in php.ini that you'll have to modify, and it goes as follows:
    Code:
    [mail function]
    ; For Win32 only.
    SMTP = localhost

    ; For Win32 only.
    sendmail_from = root@localhost

    Hmmm

    i found the php.cli file, not sure why it is named this

    I saw this line:-
    ; For Win32 only.
    sendmail_from = me@localhost.com

    I changed to sendmail_from =root@localhost?

    Hope this is ok.

    I also downloaded PostCast Server although im very confused to what i need to do to it? Do i need to change anything on it?

    The reason why i am doing this is so that in my forms i can send Email to there hotmail account etc with there user details on it!

    Any help Apprieciated

    Thanks

    I need to send an email to a number of clients, lets say 500. And I need the email message to carry a link which when clicked upon by each user, will send them to a form which will contain unique purchasing information relating to that user.(the form will always be the same, except that the purchases of every client will differ) Do I have to send some sort of a variable with the email? Is there a way to do that? Is there any other way I can do this?
