I own the domain name kinetically.com, could anyone evaluate and tell me how much it's worth? I think it's a pretty good name, since its a vocabulary. Thanks!

I personally don't think it is worth much and isn't that great of a domain name.
Here is why:
1. It is hard to say
2. It is hard to spell correctly
Both of which make "word of mouth" advertising difficult.
3. It is an adverb and not a noun.
4. What exact kind of topic can you put to Kinetically?
While your correct that single dictionary words make valuable domain names, this applies mainly to nouns and not adverbs or adjectives. After noun then Adjectives and Verbs would be in the list and finally Adverbs. In order to make a decent domain name out of kinetically you would need to add either a verb or pronoun (i.e. KineticallyYours.com) to make it worth while. Unfortunately this name doesn't have that.
Since most if not all single noun words are registered your best off by creating logical nouns (i.e. Pentium), combining two nouns (i.e. SitePoint) and/or using short adjective and noun phrases (BlueMonkey) or even noun and verb phrases (MailRun.com). Adverbs don't make good domain names in my opinion because they are not subjective enough. Even verb domain names (i.e. Go.com) are better suited for the market.
Unless you can develop and market the domain name and build traffic for the brand, it isn't going to be worth any more than what it costs to register at the cheapest registrar which is currently $1.00 for the first year at Register.com.

I thought the $1 domain name thing at Register.com ended last Sunday.

I'd say $100 because it is 1) in the dictionary, 2) a one word domain, 3) a dot-com, and 4) there are no dashes. But I do agree it is pretty hard to spell...I own the domain name kinetically.com, could anyone evaluate and tell me how much it's worth? I think it's a pretty good name, since its a vocabulary. It did.I thought the $1 domain name thing at Register.com ended last Sunday.
Yeah I agree with Wayne's comments. It would probably be worth more than what you paid for it, but not that much more. Domains are hard to place a value on, as you will see from the article on SitePoint at the moment. http://www.ecommercebase.com/article...66&pid=0<br />. It really depends on how much its worth for the buyer to have it.
For instance if there is a business somewhere called Kinetically, and they really need the domain, who knows they may be willing to pay thousands for it. I doubt this will be the case however.
When I first registered SitePoint.com, we were offered a few thousand dollars for it almost instantly by the owner of SitePoint.net. The reason he offered so much is obvious -he had the dot net version and needed the dot com. The average guy on the street wouldn't have offered this much, but it meant alot for these guys to have it...

Not much. It seems to me that NO ONE buys domain names UNLESS they are PHENOMINALLY good (business.com for example.)
So I'd have to say it is worth around $0.
Sorry.
Owen

Yes, I agree with Owen on that, no one would spend some big bucks to buy a domain, they could come up with a whole bunch of names. Only when they desperately need that particular name!

Well, I didn't expect to sell the domain name anyway, since i registed it for only 6 bucks. However, I do plan to make use of it somewhere in the future, probably after I launch my other sites. I plan to develop it, market it, and bring traffic to it, perhaps it'll have value because of the content it has. kinetically does contain the word "net" in it, so maybe it'll help a bit. I also have another one, kineticist, which I plan to use it and create a web design firm. I looked up in the dictionary and found that kineticist means the study of the kinetic art, which, according to dictionary.com means: "An art form, such as an assemblage or a sculpture, made up of parts designed to be set in motion by an internal mechanism or an external stimulus, such as light or air."
Best of all, it's a noun! Although its not really that easy to spell. I think its a good meaning for a web design firm because you create something that has power in itself, something of that sort, hope you can get what I'm trying to convey here.
Yikes thats a long hard to spell url.
The IIB says domain appraisal value 23 cents, jk
it would be worth 25 dollars in my book
There is a company called Kinetic so maybe they'll want it (or fly at you with their lawyers for copyright infringment.)
Owen
Well, Kinetic company and Kineticist is two different name. Its not the exact name. I don't consider it an infringement, I didn't use their exact name nor did I use any of their contents. We're totally separate entity.![]()

Sorry, don't like it, it's far to hard to type out.
Just go threw the dictionary and find some good nouns.
In my opinion you'll be lucky to sell it.

Domain buying times are over. People are selling good domian names just to get rid of them. My friend invested 120,000
US$ in domain 2 years ago. now he is happy just to sell them at cost which back then was $35 per year.
Just imaging buying
0005[any name]He bought useless domains like that thinking one day he will get rich from them.
I think domains with no traffic are worthless.
