I also remember my mum telling me that the arch bishop of Ireland died the day I was born too and that i'd probably become the arch bishop of Ireland some day. Highly Unlikely

LuZer - you don't know Dr. Hook?
And James, how could you possibly not know the Communards, the singer has the highest voice I have EVER heard on a man!

They are English. They are not among the few who made it across the Atlantic to make a big splash here.

    Macerena by Los Del Mar.

Kidding, of course. Really it was You Spin Me Round (Like A Record) by Dead Or Alive. Familiar name...but don't know the song.

I love that song Aidan! I very much envy you...wish that were my song. Frankie Goes to Hollywood is okay...but I didn't care for the song much. And yes, Nicky, I knew they were from the 80s...in fact, I like 80s music for the most part, just didn't know much about them.

I already knew this, but the #1 song on January 7, 1980 was "Another Brick in the Wall" by Pink Floyd.. and I know everyone has heard that song at sometime in their lives!

Firstly I have to say that "Two Tribes" by Frankie Goes to Hollywood was #1 on my birthday (1st July 1984).

And to TWTCommish, who has never heard of that song before, SHAME ON YOU!

I am 16 years old but I greatly appreciate 80's music. I believe that the 80's were one of the greatest decades of the Earth's history. In fact most of my music collection is 80's stuff.

Chill! The 80's were cool...Unbelieveable, Spin Me Round, Safety Dance...4 of my favorite songs. Just didn't like "Two Tribes" much.

Nope...just a typo. The 4 and the 3 are right next to each other...it happens now and then.

I really liked Duran Duran when I was in school. Does anyone remember Wild Boys? Or a View to a Kill which was the theme song to a 007 movie?
