It is true that cheap CD-R(W)s give a lot of trouble, but I'm using cheap CD-Rs ($0.68) as well, and they don't give me any trouble. I can even use them for audio!
BTW Yes, I do have a CD-Rewriter, but I don't use it for backups, except for large files that I want to keep (movies, mp3s).www.nyanko.ws - My web-, software- and game development company.

if you have such big site and do not backup, you should stop and thinking/reading about developing things for computers. if you have such an incident again, then you should give up and look for less dangerous work.
