Is the graybox with menus supposed to be visible on the home.html page? At the present time, it is not.
Should the revised home page have the gray menubox or not? I think not, but feel obligated to ask.
Just as a review
1. Make 8 copies of the HTML in messge #69. The names should be the same as the pages they will be replacing.
2. Assign the prescribed ID to the respective <body> tag.
3. All pages will have the same link to the same sfg.css file (css code in message #69).
Do not replace the games.html page. It has already been rewritten. Just link it to the sfg.css file, too.
I am working on the home.html page.
You don't have to wait for the home.html page to replace the other pages.
shakmbakm, can that gray area where the row of menu lists is located AND the old copyright beneath it be deleted from the pages? Please note, I am not talking about deleting the menus... just asking if the painted box can be deleted from the background-image so the box can be created with css instead. The look would be the same, but the menus in it would always be vertically centered. No guesswork needed. I think all of those page might need an updated copyright date anyway.
Should I ask for a new background image? Would your suggestion work better?
My suggestion to crop the graybox off of the images would make it a little easier to add a graybox with menus to a new page because the menus would be consistently positioned within the graybox using CSS. I do not believe it would improve the look of the existing pages (I don't think the change could be detected), but it would make it a little easier to add new pages that look good.
Because the dates need to be cropped off the bottom of the images anyway, it would be convenient to crop the graybox off the images at the same time and apply it with CSS. In other words, cut the bottom off of the images below the content and draw the graybox and date on the pages using CSS.
However, the existing menus work fine as is, so any more improvements/changes to the graybox menu system are optional.
I think it would be worthwhile to work on the home.htm page so all of the pages can use the same CSS file.
The home.htm page needs work so all of the page can use the same CSS file.
The dates need to be updated, which means editing or cropping the background-images.
The graybox menu system *could* be improved, but does not have to be. Your choice.
What do you think?
PS: did you notice that all of your new pages validate with zero errors?
Since it works as it is now, I think that should go on the backburner for now. The dates are a part of the background so I would either have to ask for updated ones or crop them. There is still one more list I need to put on the homepage and a few other links to add, before its all done. What would have to be done to the home.html?
At this time, the sfg.css file is serving all of the pages on the supefungames site except the home page.
The home page has the slider. It also has a lot of junk code that serves no purpose. A large part of the work involves distinguishing between the necessary code and the junk code. That's a problem with web pages whose code was copied from other sites.
Why don't you go ahead and add the new list and links to the home page (you said you need to add one more list and a few other links), then we can decide how to integrate it with the sfg.css . It is unlikely that you will need two different css files for this web site.
You should not have to make any changes to the sfg.css file to add the list and links to the home page since it has its own css file.
