Exclamation You only get to live once!

I like the look of the new forum better then the old one, but on dial-up it takes almost a month to load a page. When making a bunch a replies to a few different threads it gets annoying.

Hm...it shouldn't. Especially with the new, much faster-loading header. And the "Quick Reply" should cut your reply times in half.

I find that it loads faster (I'm on cable though).

You may want to try turning off display of avatars in your control panel. Also if you can get used to it, use Threaded mode when viewing threads.

It will seemingly load slower on Dialup and older browsers because of the table format. This is a known issue and will be resolved as soon as possible.

I'm on dial up at the moment, and I think it's actually faster than it was before!

2.18 kb per page saving by linking the vb3 styles rather than having them in the page... not a huge amount I know.

Off topic, and I know you're gonna be tearing-hair-out-busy so it doesn't matter, but keywords and description on vB default at the moment....

With gZIP on, the inline style information amounts to about 300 bytes which is equivalent to a browser sending a request to the server and determining whether to load the file out of its cache or from the server.

The majority of the stylesheet information is linked.

I know about the keyword and description meta tags.

Maybe the Internet was just slow last night, it does seem a little faster today.

I've noticed this slowness with vB3, even over at vb.com. It seems to only be happening when viewing the list of threads in a forum for the first time. When you visit a thread and then pres the back button the previous thread list appears almost instantly, which in the long run is quicker, IMO.

BTW, I see this when doing a search for new threads since my last visit.

    Anyone else notice this too?

Yeah I've noticed that although I'd asumed that it was because it took a little time to run the search script...
