The gel wrist rest on my mouse mat sprang a leak and oozed goo over the cuff of my (new) woollen top. Has anybody else experienced this, and have you any idea how I can remove the gunk? The top's machine washable, but it took soap and water plus a scrubbing brush to get the goo off my hand, so I'm guessing a straight wash won't do it. Solvents will probably do more harm than good, and I certainly don't want to be experimenting. Any tried and tested remedies?

Something like Isopropyl alcohol might work though I don't know if it would ruin the wool though I wouldn't have thought so.
